The Chalet

Closer than your usual spots.

Hwy 285 through Conifer and Bailey, over Kenosha Pass, and you're here.

Summit County makes you earn it: I-70, the Eisenhower crawl, resort-town prices. Skyfall doesn't. It's two hours door-to-door from Denver on a highway that never jams, and when you arrive there's nothing to do but soak, eat well, and look up.

You're ten minutes from Fairplay — the real South Park — and forty-five from Breckenridge over Hoosier Pass. Ski day Saturday, quiet hot tub Saturday night, home Sunday without the crawl.

The Hot Tub
★★★★★
"We shut off all of the lights in the house as we lay in the hot tub and watched for shooting stars."
Stephen — June 2026

Open year-round on the main deck, facing the valley — sunrise soaks in summer, snowfall soaks in January.

The Barrel Sauna
★★★★★
"We spent our days outside soaking it all in, enjoying the deck, sauna and hot tub — and our nights stargazing."
Kristin — Denver, Colorado

A cedar barrel sauna below the deck, steps from the fire pit. Heat up, step out into the cold mountain air, repeat.

The Kitchen
★★★★★
"Lots of 'extras' — a coffee bar with flavored syrups, full-size toiletries, a full spice rack in the kitchen, and amazing views!"
Dawn — March 2026

Fully equipped: full spice rack, air fryer, slow cooker, cocktail kit, and a gas grill on the deck. Bring groceries, not gear.

The Master Suite
★★★★★
"The setting couldn't be more peaceful and quiet. The memory foam beds were very comfy."
Kasey — June 2026

King bed under the poppy wallpaper, steps from a full bath with a jetted tub and a walk-in tiled shower for after the trail.

The First Night

The Denver weekend, done right

Leave the office at 5. Hwy 285 south, sun over the foothills.

Groceries in Fairplay, bags down by 7. Dogs straight into the yard.

Fire the sauna. Steaks on the grill by 8.

Soak in the hot tub as the stars come out — all ten thousand of them.

Sunday: slow coffee, one last soak — home by mid-afternoon, no I-70 crawl.

Dogs Welcome

Traveling with dogs? You found the place.

A fully fenced side yard — a rarity at this elevation — means your dogs run free off-leash while you have your coffee. Bowls, waste bags, and a dog bed are already here.

"Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in side yard — there was even a dog bed which our pups curled right up on."

A note from your host, Douglas

"We love Skyfall because it's the perfect escape from it all. You're close enough to all the great things Colorado has to offer, and far enough away to enjoy some real peace and quiet. The night skies are the true selling point, and you have to see them to believe them. We look forward to hosting you and know that you will love it as much as we do!"

Good to Know

Questions guests ask most

What's the drive from Denver actually like?
Hwy 285 south through Conifer, Bailey, and over Kenosha Pass — about 2 hours from central Denver, and famously immune to the I-70 ski-traffic crawl. The last stretch across South Park is one of the prettiest drives on the Front Range.
How far is Skyfall Chalet from Denver?
About 2 hours from Denver and 2 hours 15 minutes from DIA — an easy Friday-evening drive via Hwy 285, with no I-70 traffic.
How close is the skiing?
Breckenridge is 45 minutes over Hoosier Pass. Keystone, Copper, and Loveland are also within reach — ski world-class resorts, then come home to a quiet hot tub instead of a crowded resort town.
Is the chalet dog friendly?
Yes — dogs are welcome, and the fully fenced side yard (rare at 10,000 ft) means they run off-leash. Bowls, waste bags, and a dog bed are provided.
Do I need AWD or 4WD?
October through May, AWD or 4x4 is required — the driveway is steep and curved and can be icy (it's plowed after 6" of snowfall). In summer, any car is fine.
Is the hot tub open year-round?
Yes. Winter soaks under the stars are a guest favorite, and the barrel sauna is steps away.
How many people does it sleep?
3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 — ideal for families or two couples. Booking direct on this site means no platform service fees.
How does paying direct work? Is it safe?
You pay by card through a secure checkout powered by Hospitable — the same booking platform behind thousands of independent vacation rentals. You get instant confirmation by email, and your dates come off the calendar immediately (it's the same calendar Airbnb uses).
What happens after I book?
Instant confirmation by email, then full check-in details — directions, door code, and house guide — before your arrival. Your host is a text away the whole stay.
What's the cancellation policy?
Full refund if you cancel at least 5 days before check-in, plus a 24-hour grace period right after booking. Within 5 days of check-in, a partial refund applies. For stays of 28+ nights: full refund up to 30 days before check-in. The exact terms are always shown before you pay — no surprises.
Are taxes and cleaning included in the quote?
Yes — the total you see at checkout includes taxes and the cleaning fee. No resort fees, no service fees, no surprises at the door.
Is there a pet fee?
$125 per dog, up to 2 dogs — a flat fee per stay, not per night. No cats. Bowls, waste bags, and a dog bed are provided.
What are check-in and checkout times?
Check-in 4:00 PM, checkout 10:00 AM — keyless entry, so no meet-ups or lockboxes. Early check-in or late checkout? Just ask; if the calendar allows it, it's usually a yes.
Is there air conditioning?
Like most homes at 10,000 ft, no — and you won't miss it. Summer highs average in the 70s with nights in the 40s; open windows and the fans provided keep it comfortable.
Is the hot tub private?
Completely. It's on your own deck, for your group only, running year-round.
